Is it worth talking about?

What if you were going through a personal crisis that you were keeping to yourself but somehow word got out to other people and through gossip or what not about your situation, somehow everyone knew what was going on in your personal life?   What I have personally learned is that people are more than willing to share their personal views but ask very little questions in return to find out the truth or validity of the information.  You have to learn to just take it in, their concern, their advice but know that the whole story has not been given to them so the opinion that they may form is based off of very little information and not straight from the source.

What do you do when the support system at the church fails because of judgmental, hypocritical attitudes overtaking the people?  This is a hard one because when a church structure fails, then it is hard to know where to turn.  I think in the back of your mind you just have to know that the church is not the end all, be all.  These are people trying to interpret their thoughts the best they know how with guidance through the holy spirit.  Obviously with God's leading.  When someone gives you advice, pray about it and make sure that it registers with your spirit too.

Who do you look too or where do you turn for help? Speaking with a pastor is the best route to go.  A pastor doesn't become a pastor without a proven relationship with God so to speak to a person who is pretty tight and speaks often to God is a good way to go and feel pretty confident with his advice.  Although I did not personally take my own advice, looking back it would have made my situation a lot easier and smoother.  Also, talk straight to God!  It may seem like such a "go-to" answer but you have to.  It may not be today or tomorrow or a week from now that you see God's grace unfolding but hold on to the truth that it will happen eventually.  During that time is when you see all other fruits of the spirit unfolding.  Love, peace, patience, self-control, and so many other things.

The only sure thing that has been proven solid over time, is God's love!  Always seek him first in everything!  :-)

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Matt 6:33.  When everything fails, Gods word will never change!

On a different note:

Here is a quick pic of my sister and her new Dog. Now her name has been changed to Dixie.  Cute little dog.  It is called a Cha-wini….A mix between a chihuahua and a weiner dog…hilarious name/breed!

I am so missing the warmer days of summer!  Here is a picture of a day at the beach.  We had such a great time by the pool and can not wait to go back again this year.

With that, make it a great day people!  :-)

Visit to the Clinique counter!

Today I had a slight makeover at the clinique counter.  It was great and definitely proves to me that I need to wear foundation a lot more.  I had mentioned in a previous post that my pores were becoming more and more visible as I age and I really didn't think wearing foundation would cover it that much but it does.  So note to self, take the time and invest in some foundation!  The coverage was nice and even and did not look overdone and after the foundation was applied, my face didn't feel oily one bit.  Felt very soft and dry to the touch, which in this case, feeling dry is ok.

Here is an after picture with foundation and dry powder on.

I wish you could see it a little closer.  Unfortunately, you can't see the foundation up close.    But what you can see is even coverage and smoother looking skin. Also, apparently I have a permanent mustache.  Looks like a darker pigmentation on my upper lip which is interesting.  ha!

I thought I would post a picture of a cute, cute outfit I saw in a magazine today.  The companies name is Venus and I have never heard of the company.  I received the catalog in the mail today so thought I would take a peek.  I love this outfit and several other items in the catalog.  Definitely should check it out if you havn't already.

Although the outfit would look a lot better on someone that is about 50 pounds lighter than me, I still love it!  Perfect for spring or summer.

Guilty Pleasure Friday

3 words - iced latte Friday!!  That's my little tradition I have been doing for years now.  Love my French vanilla iced lattes from Dunkin donuts.

I also found a pretty cool dessert today too!  Ben & Jerry's now have a Greek yogurt.  So, sooooo good!  Only 190 calories per serving

Both my sister and I love this perfume!  It's just a subtle scent that's not too strong.  It's made by Coach and it's called Poppy.

Also this fragrance is worth checking out too.  Happened to pass this scent on the way out and so glad I stopped to give it a sniff.  Love it!

Lots of things on the wish list!

From Trash to Treasure

Here are some yardsale finds that I love!  I am a yard saler, thrift shop, goodwill shopping kinda gal.  I don't care if it used or not I can find a way to use it.

The first picture is supposed to be focusing on the chair (that I found on the side of the road)  someone was throwing it away.  It happened to match my set perfectly.  Granted, close up the fabric needs to be cleaned and the wood has a few chips missing but otherwise great find on the side of the road for free!

The next find is of a black mirror.  I purchased this mirror for only $10 at a yardsale here in our subdivision.  It is just a basic black square wooden mirror.  It matches the rest of the room perfectly though. My living and dining room both have black curtains and black accents so this fit right in.

Don't mind the picture on the floor.  Had to take it down to put up the black mirror.
This stool I found at Goodwill. They were selling it for $8 so I just had to buy it.  I tend to use it for my lil guys to do their homework on.  I do still hope to find the other match to it!  Makes it difficult only having one stool.  A great deal though!  Definitely some good finds at the Goodwill.

Biggest Loser Challenge

I'm getting straight to the point - Did anybody see the Biggest Loser Challenge?

The girl who won looked like she was slightly anorexic.  I can not imagine that NBC was happy with that.  You want a contestant to look like she is healthy, energetic while attaining this massive weight loss.  She looked like she had either taken weight loss enhancers or metabolife or something like that.  She looked unhealthy.

What is interesting is the fact that she used to be an athlete, a swimmer to be exact so she knows what she needs to do to stay healthy.

Just in shock of it all.  Bob and Jillian looked stunned but she claims she lost the weight in a healthy way and she has no regrets.

Congratulations to her!  I think she won in the excess of $250,000.  I'd take that!!

My sister

Wanted to take today to post about my sister.  Love her very much and don't know what I would do without her in my life. Not everyone understands me, like my sister does.

When we were younger, my mother used to dress us in matching clothes and everyone thought we were twins.  We outgrew that shortly after 5th grade.  lol

I wish I didn't look so darn grumpy in this picture!

You don't always get the opportunity to tell family members how much they mean to you.

She's always been the person that I go to as a sounding board, confidante, friend, someone who totally understands me inside and out.

I do love her very much and take heart in knowing that no matter what we will always be sisters.

No matter if we are having a good day or a bad day, that she is there and can always just call her up and talk about things that I need to get off of my mind.

Thank you Lord for blessing me with a sister.  The one constant thing in my life. During the storms, through the calm times, she always remains my sister.

Superbowl Fever!

We had such a great Weekend with the Superbowl.  We had a few family and friends over so it turned out really nice.

Here  are just a couple pics!

Susan, Emma Jane and her cool buggy & Alex

Steve and Crissy
Her Aunt Sherry loves her some Emma!

At any time, you could find Emma running through the house.  Never knew where we find her.

My sweet niece Kaylee!  Love her so much!

And just because I did not want to leave my lil buddy out.  Here is a pic of my lil guy!

We all had a great time and hoping that the best team won.  I am not really a fan of the Bronco's or the Seahawks so really either team would be fine with me.
